Shri R. Subbiah established Central Theatre in Trivandrum in the early 50's. He was also involved in production and distribution of films. His association with the newspaper world also brought him wide acclaim. For years, the dream of building another movie hall grew in his mind; until finally, in 1967 it materialized as Ajanta Theatre.

2. Sree Padmanabha & Devi Priya –East Fort

The launch of Sree Padmanabha Theatre was in the year 1936 as a Tent Cinema with single projector. The shows conducted then had nearly six intervals. The first reconstruction was done in early 40s. The third construction with air conditioning was done during the70s and was opened on the 11th February 1972. Dolby Stereo and DTS sound system was introduced in August 1997. the Major face lift was done in March 2011. Now the theatre is upgraded with following facilities.

• Photophone - Super Arc (Analog).
• Screen - Imported Silver Screen.

5. Sreekumar, Sreevisakh & New Theatre – Thampanoor
P.Suburamaniam (1906-1978) - The founder of New Theatre, SreeKumar and SreeVisakh. New theatre was established on 14th march 1936, followed by SreeKumar on 14th march 1948 and "SreeVisakh" on 1978 (SreeKumar Theatre was inaugurated by his highness the Elaya Raja of Travancore) Merryland Studio was established in 1951.
New Theatre was renovated on 2015 and made it to one of the best theatres in trivandrum. Now New theatre have three screen with Dolby Atmos sound system installed.

6. Kairali/Sree/Nila – Thampanoor & Kalabhavan Theatre - Vazhuthacaud
KSFDC has an exhibition network with Theatres (Kairali/Sree/Nila) at Thiruvananthapuram, Theatres (Kairali/Sree) at Trissur, Theatres (Kairali/Sree) at Kozhikode. Kalabhavan Theatre at Thiruvananthapuram is another attraction. The single theatres at Chertala, N. Kalabhavan Theatre Paravoor and Chittoor are all named as Chitranjali.
